The oldest archive is from 1299. We saw behind the scenes about how damaged archives are restored and kept.
“The role at Central School doubled with the number of evacuees who came. 245 evacuees. The children knitted vests and socks for poorer children of Europe. They collected over 22,500 books for the troops. An amazing war effort.
We looked at letters, photographs, school records, newspapers, government advice brochures and Inverness and District records of homes and owners. It was a very informative place to visit.
