P7B – Geography and Police visits

Today we were lucky to have two different visitors in our class.

First we were visited by Mrs Kish, a geography teacher from the IRA. She will visit us a few times throughout the year to give us an introduction to the subject.

Today we were learning about map symbols and what they signify. We played bingo to help us learn them. We really enjoyed this and got quite competitive!

We look forward to welcoming Mrs Kish back later in the year.

We also had a visit from Police Scotland to discuss drugs. We got to see replicas of different types of drugs and if provided a great opportunity for us to ask any questions we had. The police officer helped to reinforce the key message that drugs and peer pressure may be a situation we find ourselves in as teenagers and we discussed how to seek help if you find yourself in this situation.

A great link to this term’s topic of substance misuse.
