Lochardil boys are 3rd in Scotland!

A team of Lochardil P6/7s travelled to Toryglen at Hampden on 8th May to compete in the National SSFA Soccer 7s championship. The boys played fantastically and were undefeated, winning 3 games and drawing 1. They narrowly missed out on progressing to the final on goal difference, but picked themselves up and went on to comfortably secure 3rd place in the whole of Scotland! Amazing achievement and we are all very proud of them!

The road to Hampden included the boys winning the Highland qualifying round in Inverness in November 2018, being the only team from nine which went on to compete in the North of Scotland qualifying round. The boys travelled to Dundee in March and played against very talented teams from Aberdeen, Perthshire and beyond and successfully secured one of only two qualifying places for the finals in Hampden! In Hampden the Lochardil team were one of the 8 top teams from across the whole of Scotland and to achieve 3rd place out of the hundreds of teams that entered is incredible!

Congratulations boys on such a great achievement!

A huge thank you to the football coaches who give up their time to coach the boys and also to Mrs Anna Miller for co-ordinating the admin side with the school office.
