Please see the presentation below for our thank you message for all the food donations from Lochardil Larder!
Yesterday P3A were given a challenge to see if they could make a bulb light up. They were given a battery, wires, a bulb and a bulb holder. Some of the children managed to light up the bulb really quickly. They really enjoyed this activity and next week they are going to make a switch to turn the bulb on and off.
Thank you to the Parent Council who funded a new clock to help us learn the time.
Next week sees the start of advent….we are prepared!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to the Blythswood Shoebox Appeal! Thanks to your kindness and generosity we have collected 61 boxes along with donations of money and gifts. It is really appreciated!
Thank you so much to everyone who donated to Children in Need today! So far we have raised an amazing £533! Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. We had so much fun and it was really lovely to see our friends in other classes virtually during our school quiz!
This Friday is the big fundraising show for Children in Need and Primary 5 have been working hard to help everyone take part safely and have lots of fun while raising money for this great cause!
This Friday will be a Dress Down Day. This year’s CiN theme is ‘Wear Yellow’ but any dress down clothing is fine!
The activities, which have been organised by Primary 5, will take place virtually within your child’s classsroom.
We are not charging specified amounts for taking part in either the Dress Down Day, or the activities. Any donations would be greatly appreciated though! Please hand in all donations to school on, or before, Friday the 13th of November. Thank you very much!
From Primary 5 and Miss MacArthur!
Another busy week over in P3A. In maths we have been looking at adding and subtracting within a 100 and also 3 digit numbers. We started our topic which is called Helping our World, we looked at litter and the impact that this can have on animals and the environment. In art we drew detailed pictures of bonfires and fireworks. We enjoyed circuits and rounders for PE. Today we played some games with the parachute which we really enjoyed.
A huge thank you to all of you who have donated to the Blythswood Showbox Appeal.
Please can we have all donations in by tomorrow. We are very grateful for any donations, whether it is a filled shoebox or items that can be included in a shoebox.
From P5 and Miss MacArthur
For PE today we did circuits. We had a different activity to do at each station with a partner. We had 30 seconds to do each activity, we counted how many star jumps etc our partner did then we swopped round.
A HUGE thank you for all the food bank donations on Friday.
And finally…..here are the dress up/dress down outfits this year…
Have a great weekend everyone!
It has been great to be back this week. We started off by capturing our thoughts on being back so far and what would make things even better by making a pupil voice display. Some children wanted a swimming pool!
We enjoyed lots of Halloween stories this week and made newspaper collage cats after listening to Meg and Mog stories. The are super!
Blythswood Shoebox Appeal
Primary 5 are organising this year’s Blythswood Shoebox Appeal!
The Blythswood Shoebox appeal helps make Christmas a special time to those in need.
You have been given a leaflet, which tells you all about the Blythswood Shoebox appeal, how to make your shoebox and a checklist of things to include.
There are extra leaflets available at the office for anyone who needs.
We would be very grateful for any donations of filled shoeboxes, or any items which could help to fill a shoebox.
Please hand in all items and shoeboxes by Friday the 6th of November.
Thank you very much!
Love from Primary 5!
What a busy week it was! We have been learning about fiction and non-fiction texts, doing yoga and working on adding strategies. We have an area of the school garden to look after that has a few small raised beds in it. For outdoor learning, the class have chosen to grow food and flowers in them. We hope to start planting next week. I have some daffodil bulbs I can bring in and if you have anything at home – cuttings, plants, bulbs or seeds you don’t need we will gratefully receive them!! We are almost at the end of our Book Study. Plop’s mother has been a good role model, giving us strategies to try when we are afraid of something or worried. Looking at the stars made Plop less afraid of the dark and he even taught us a few star constellation names. The children were very creative and designed their own constellations. Aren’t they fabulous? Have a lovely weekend everyone!
