One of our extremely talented Lochardil Primary Parents has been very busy creating this beautiful “Lochardil Lockdown – Don’t Worry Bee Happy” outdoor display right outside the school gates!
Some children have already been very busy painting stones at home, and what a fantastic job they have made. It is lovely to see such bright and colourful creations making us all smile during lockdown.
We think the stones are looking a bit lonely and thats where you guys come in – our fabulous Lochardil Primary Pupils and Families! We want you to add to our lovely display by getting your hands on some stones and taking the time to paint or colour them in whatever way you choose – and when you are out on your daily walk make sure to add your stone to our collection.
Let’s see how many amazing colourful stones we can get displayed in front of our school gate to make sure that we keep each other smiling during Lockdown.
On Thursday the children looked wonderful in all their different outfits. There were beautiful princesses, magical animals and famous superheroes . They had great fun moving around classes taking part in the different activities including ‘Guess the Title of the Book’.
Although Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) is not until Tuesday, February 25th, we decided to make our pancakes yesterday! We had lots of fun measuring out the ingredients, mixing them all in the bowl, spooning the mix onto the pancake maker to cook and then, the best part – eating the pancakes. YUM YUM!
Happy New Year to you all and welcome back to term 3!
We hope you all had a lovely holiday. The children have all come back refreshed after a very exhausting end to term 2! They have already been very busy and are enjoying getting back into the swing of things once more.
We are very lucky this term to be receiving some indoor tennis coaching. This will take place over the next 4 weeks, with our first session taking place this Friday. Gym kit (everything named please) will be required for this, so please remember to send this in if you haven’t already done so. Thank you.
Also, Show and Tell will begin this Friday for the Busy Bees and Clever Caterpillars. Next Friday will be the turn of the Fabulous Frogs and the Brilliant Butterflies and alternate Fridays thereafter.
Our learning overview for this term will be posted shortly. Watch this space…!
How proud I was of all the children today! They were excellent listeners during the service and very responsible when walking to the Culduthel Christian Centre. A huge thank you to our parent helpers too. The children were delighted to have you accompany us.
A wee reminder that our Christmas party will take place on
Wednesday the 18th of December in the afternoon. Children should
come to school dressed in their party clothes or if you prefer they can change
As you will know we
rely on your wonderful party food donations for our upcoming Christmas Party.
At the moment we have yet to secure enough food donations to go comfortably
around all the children in P1. It would be a shame for us to have to go ahead
with the party without the nibbles to fill us all up after our dancing and
party games. Therefore, we ask that those who have yet to bring in a party food
donation, if you are able, please do so by Tuesday the 17th of
A big thank you to those in our class who have already
donated food and nibbles. We very much appreciate your help with making our
Christmas Party as special as possible!
The children are looking forward to the end of term Christmas service and we require parent helpers to accompany the class to the Culduthel Christian Centre on Thursday 19th December at 9.15am. A slip, to be returned to the class, has been popped into your child’s reading folder for completion if you are able to help. Many thanks.
A quick reminder that tomorrow is our school Christmas lunch. No other lunch choice will be available to order tomorrow so a packed lunch will need to be provided for those who have chosen not to have a Christmas dinner.
Children can also come in wearing their Christmas jumpers!
After 5 weeks of hard work, the big day is nearly here. We are all very excited to perform our Nativity to all the parents, carers and grandparents coming to one of next weeks’ shows. As our morning performances are starting at 9.30am on both Monday and Tuesday, we will be taking P1 and P2 classes in at the first bell on both of these days. This bell rings at 8.50am so it would be greatly appreciated if your child could be in their line at this time in order for us to get ready.
A reminder that doors will open 10 minutes before each performance starts, and you must have your allocated tickets with you to gain entry.
We look forward to seeing lots of friends and family at one of the performances next week, and we hope you are as excited as we are!
A big thank you to all who have provided costumes for the Nativity. We are still waiting on a few so if these could be taken in ASAP that would be great. This only applies to those who received a letter home regarding costumes as we have these in school for some roles.
As we are beginning to organise and distribute tickets, we would be grateful if all ticket slips could be returned by tomorrow at the latest (29/11). As tickets are on a first come, first served basis with a draw for any spares, it is unlikely we will be able to provide tickets for late returns. Please also check your child’s bag in case any slips have been left in the bottom rather than being handed in.
A massive than you to everyone who donated money, items and their precious time to help our fundraising efforts for Children in Need. We raised a fabulous £786.58! Mrs Prentice and Miss MacArthur would also like to thank the P5 pupils and P7 volunteers for all their hard work organising and running all the fundraising activities. Well done everyone!
Children in Need is on Friday and P5a and P5b have organised lots of fun activities and games to raise money for this fabulous cause. There will also be a ‘Dress Down Day’ on Friday for a donation of £1. There will also be a bake stall and raffle. Any donations of baking (no items containing nuts please) or items for our raffle would be gratefully received. Please send in any items of baking, or prizes, into school by Friday. Thank you very much!
This is an advance notice that we will be supporting this year’s Blythswood Shoebox Appeal.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us in the past. Last year we collected 55 shoeboxes and we would love to make this an extra special Christmas for those in need again this year.
This year Blysthswood will be collecting our filled Shoeboxes on Friday November the 8th. We would be very grateful if all donations could be handed into school by then. A checklist of suitable Christmas gifts to include in your shoebox will be going home on the first week of term.
Please help us to spread love and hope this Christmas.
Just wanted to share with parents/carers that I will be out of school tomorrow and the class will be covered by Mrs. Farqhuar. Also, Show and Tell will be for the Busy Bees and Clever Caterpillars this week and The Fabulous Frogs and Brilliant Butterflies will have their turn next week.
Thank you and have a super weekend when it arrives!
