P1A Festive Fun!

The girls and boys really enjoyed taking part in a special Christmas Kahoot quiz which was organised by the P7 house captains. We also took part in a virtual Christmas assembly!

In class, we have been busy making and writing Christmas cards. Our sound this week was x so we made an x-ray of our hand!

Monday will be a dress down day as a thank you from the P7 house captains.

P1A Dates for your diary

Christmas lunch – A quick reminder that tomorrow is our Christmas lunch. Pupils are welcome to come to school wearing something festive such as a Christmas jumper or a Santa hat!

Christmas Party – The P1 Christmas party will be held on Wednesday 16th December (morning). We kindly ask that each pupil takes a small amount of party food from home for themselves only, not for sharing. They can also take juice in their water bottles.

Many thanks!

P1A – Scottish Book Week

P1A have enjoyed reading the story ‘The Girl Who Stole the Stars’. We learned what an author and an illustrator does and we even made our own versions of the story! We had lots of fun designing a front cover for our story.

Our sounds this week were l and f. The girls and boys did some finger painting to create patterns on fish.

An order form for Christmas lunch went home today. Please return by Wednesday 25th November if your child would like to have a Christmas lunch on Wednesday 9th December.

P1A – Scottish Book Week

Did you know that this week is Scottish Book Week? To celebrate, the girls and boys got a Bookbug bag! The bag contains lots of lovely books and activities for you to enjoy at home. We will also be doing some activities in class using a book that was written by a local author.

Homework packs went home today. Please check Google Classroom for more info!

Blythswood Shoebox Appeal

Primary 5 are organising this year’s Blythswood Shoebox Appeal!

The Blythswood Shoebox appeal helps make Christmas a special time to those in need.

You have been given a leaflet, which tells you all about the Blythswood Shoebox appeal, how to make your shoebox and a checklist of things to include.

There are extra leaflets available at the office for anyone who needs.

We would be very grateful for any donations of filled shoeboxes, or any items which could help to fill a shoebox.

Please hand in all items and shoeboxes by Friday the 6th of November.

Thank you very much!

Love from Primary 5!

P1A Welcome Back!

I hope you all had a lovely holiday. There are lots of things happening this week so here are some important dates for your diary!

The school photographer will be in school on Tuesday and Wednesday (27th and 28th of October). Family photos will be taken on Tuesday and individual photos will be taken on Wednesday.

As we will not be having our usual fancy dress disco this year pupils are welcome to come to school in fancy dress or dress down (no school uniform) on Friday 30th October. We kindly ask that instead of a £1 donation, pupils make a food donation which will be given to our local food bank.

A leaflet went home today about the Blythswood Shoebox Appeal. If you would like to donate a shoebox to the appeal, please follow the instructions on the leaflet and hand it in by Friday 6th November.

Many thanks 🙂

Our Week in P1A

The girls and boys have had a very busy week in P1A!

We have been continuing to learn about feelings using the book ‘The Colour Monster’. We painted our own colour monsters and talked about ways that we could make ourselves feel better if we ever felt sad or angry. We have also been learning the names of some colours in French.

The boys and girls have also been busy doing lots of sorting and matching. They have also painted a self-portrait of them in their school uniforms.

Lost property – some jumpers and cardigans may have gone home with the wrong owner. Could all parents and carers please check name labels over the weekend and pop back anything that does not belong to your child, many thanks!

P1A Welcome Back!

Our first few days back have been very busy, but everyone is doing a great job of settling in!

If you have not already done so, please accept your invitation to join the P1A Google Classroom. We will use the classroom to keep you updated on things that we are doing in class.

Our PE days will be Thursday and Friday. We kindly ask that your child comes to school with their gym kit on those days.
