We are now unable to go on our trip to Brodie Castle. Any trip money already paid will be refunded from the school office.
We are very lucky this term as we will be receiving some tennis coaching every Friday for the next 4 weeks. Please ensure your child comes to school with their full PE kit and a change of indoor shoes.
Wimbledon here we come !!
Today was World Kindness Day!
The pupils were encouraged to promote kindness by carrying out random acts of kindness throughout the day. The Health Promoter Group would like to say a big thank you to everyone who took part!
A massive thank you to everyone who has donated to the Blythswood Shoebox appeal so far. Please can we have all donations into school by Friday. Thank you very much!
From P5a and Miss MacArthur
Welcome back! We have another busy term ahead of us with lots of exciting things planned. Please note the termly overview will be posted up on the blog by the end of next week. Letters regarding our trip to the cinema went out today, if you are able to help then please return the slip as soon as possible. On Monday our class will have the opportunity to go to the book fair where they can browse or purchase a variety of books and stationary items.
This week the children have been learning to identify symmetrical shapes.
P5a are organising a collection for this year’s Blythswood appeal. We would be very grateful if we could have all shoeboxes handed into school by the 08.11.19.
Leaflets about the shoebox appeal, including a checklist of items, were sent home this week. Please let us know if you need any more information or anymore leaflets.
Thank you so much for your support!
From P5a and Miss MacArthur
This is an advance notice that we will be supporting this year’s Blythswood Shoebox Appeal.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us in the past. Last year we collected 55 shoeboxes and we would love to make this an extra special Christmas for those in need again this year.
This year Blysthswood will be collecting our filled Shoeboxes on Friday November the 8th. We would be very grateful if all donations could be handed into school by then. A checklist of suitable Christmas gifts to include in your shoebox will be going home on the first week of term.
Please help us to spread love and hope this Christmas.
We have been learning all about food chains. We know that plants use the energy from the sun to make their own food. Working with a partner we created our own food chains.
Congratulations to Alex, our Star of the Week, for his fabulous art work. His observation skills and attention to detail was great. Well done Alex!
Congratulations to Cameron, who was our ‘Pupil of the month’ for his fabulous maths work. He puts so much effort into all of his work and has fabulous concentration! Well done Cameron!
P5a are concentrating on invasion games in PE just now. We have been developing our spatial awareness and having great fun too!
Congratulations to this week’s Star Writers!
This week has been a very busy and fun week!
We have been learning how to keep ourselves and each other safe during food preparation. We have created information posters, with our own individually designed mascots, to communicate what we know about food hygiene and safety and we are very proud of the result. We are very excited to put our knowledge into practice next week as we begin to design and create our own recipes!
Congratulations to Maria, who is our Star of the Week for her fabulous information poster. It was really informative and beautifully presented. Well done Maria!
Some photographs which were taken last week during some of our activity and play time. Note….NO tears!!
A big welcome to the Primary 2 blog! We hope you all had a lovely summer. The children have settled in nicely to their new class and they’ve been working very well together.
We will be updating this blog with a Termly Overview next week, which will hopefully give you all the information you need.
Looking forward to an exciting term ahead!
