Welcome to the P6/7 Blog!
It was great to see everyone return to school after a long, hot and enjoyable summer. This week we have spent time getting to know each other and settling into our new classroom and routines.
Our P7s have been busy with buddy duties and what an excellent job they have done! It has been great to see how well they have taken on this responsibility and have certainly helped our littlest learners settle into life at primary school.
Next week I will post a detailed overview for the term but here are a few points about the upcoming term to get us started:
Our PE days are on Monday and Wednesday – please ensure that your child comes to school with appropriate clothing and footwear and that they have plenty of water
an information letter about homework went home in school bags at the beginning of the week – spelling homework will be sent home on a Monday and words and meanings will be tested on a Friday, numeracy and math homework will usually be sent home on a weekly basis and will commence in week 3, other homework related to our topic will be set when appropriate throughout the term
Please ensure that homework jotters are covered with wrapping paper, etc as this protects the jotters as they travel to and from school – please do not go to any expense!
An upcoming project in our class requires each child to have a shoe box – if you have any spare lying around the house it would be greatly appreciated if you could send these in; thank you to those of you who have brought one in already.
We have had a great first week and I look forward to working with your children over the coming year.
If you have any urgent queries please do not hesitate to contact me through the school office.
I hope everyone has a well deserved, restful weekend. See you all on Monday!
