Please click on the link below to find our learning overview for this term. Thank you.
Please Be Aware!
We would like to make you aware we now have a number of reported cases of slapped cheek syndrome in P2A.
Unless you or your child is feeling unwell, there is no need to stay away from school once the rash has developed, as the infection is no longer contagious by this point.
However, please be aware of early symptoms and let us know immediately if your child has the infection, so other children can be spotted quickly and vulnerable people can be made aware that they may need to get medical advice.
Please follow the link for further information and advice –
Please remind your child to wash their hands regularly and bring in plenty of tissues during this winter period.
Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a brilliant holiday! Thank you very much for the lovely gifts. The children have been learning the months of the year in Maths and practising teamwork skills in P.E. Have a look at our photos.
The children are taking part in the Nativity and I have sent home the words for the songs they are to sing. The first show is in about two weeks time so keep practising song 1,2,6 and 7!
A note has been included in your child’s Reading Diary about Christmas Lunch on Wednesday 13th December for you to return.
Children in Need
Thank you very much for the donations to Children in Need.
Here are our star writers this week. Well done Alexander, Caitlin, Rebecca and Layla.
What fun the children have been having this week. There has been a lot of measuring going on in the classroom. They have been using different kinds of equipment to measure the weather, they have been measuring weight using balances and dipping in water to measure how much water a container holds.Today, they investigated how to make it rain in the classroom. Luckily, we experimented making it rain in a bowl so we didn’t get wet!
Have a look at out photos.

What caring children we have in our class! Last week some of the girls collected the dropped litter in their lunch break. So as part of out topic ‘Our Caring Community’ we talked about littering and what we could do to look after our school. We decided to go out and do a litter pick to help keep our school tidy. Look at all the litter we collected,
It’s been a busy week. At the beginning of the week we watched a play by Hopscotch and the Oral Hygienist visited us and talked to us about looking after our teeth.
Today Mrs Bee came to visit us with her baby Euan. He was so cute and such fun. He enjoyed it as much as the children. We learned all sorts of things about caring for a baby and had some really interesting questions to ask. Alexander played peek-a-boo.
Here are our star writers. Caitlin, Lily, Sarah and Layla all wrote beautifully.
The Clean Hands Box
All the children were surprised at the germs on their hands.
Ava had the cleanest hands of us all. Well done Ava!
The children enjoyed carrying out an experiment on germs today. First, they contaminated a slice of bread with germs from their hands. Then, Iain and Ollie sealed it in a plastic bag.
Next, Layla and Cullen checked their hands were clean in a special light box. Look at all the germs on their hands!
They washed their hands and put another slice of bread into a poly bag.
The children will check the bread each day to see what the germs do to the bread.
The children have been developing their throwing and catching skills in P.E. We dodged the rainfalls to practice different kinds of throwing.

Well done to Lewis for receiving Pupil of the Month award. He is such a brilliant listener and follows our Class Charter well.

Just a wee note that there are a few bugs on the go. We are encouraging the pupils to wash their hands as always, but if your child has suffered nausea then remember to keep them at home until 48 hours after, to help prevent the spread of those pesky germs. Many thanks.
