Parent Helpers Needed – Thursday 20th December 2018

We are looking for parent volunteers to help escort our pupils to our annual end of term Christmas service, at the Culduthel Christian Centre , on Thursday 20th December. We will be leaving school about 0930 to arrive at the CCC for 10am. If you are able to help, please let your child’s class teacher know by Monday 17th December. Thank you!

P1A Writing

Yesterday P1A were reflecting on their Nativity performance by writing about what made them feel proud.  Answers included – “when the Mums and Dads were clapping”, “when I was singing” and “when I was doing all the actions to the songs”.  We were all very proud of their amazing performance too.

The Primary 1s and Primary 2s were absolutely super during their Nativity performances over the last few days. All the children have worked really hard learning all the songs and their lines and we couldn’t be happier with all their fantastic performances!

A big thanks to all the family and friends who took the time to come and see the children perform, you were a super audience and we absolutely loved having you!

The countdown to Christmas is now officially on!

Learning Pathway 3

Today the third learning pathway which had a focus on Religious and Moral Education and Expressive Arts was sent home inside your child’s reading folder.

It contains the learning pathway comment sheet, alongside a photograph of your child with their finished work.

Please ensure that the learning pathway is completed and returned with the photo evidence by Monday the 10th of December.

There are also a couple of people who have not returned our Bonfire night writing evidence sheet from our previous KAT. I ask that you please return this alongside the new learning pathway on Monday.

Many Thanks and have a lovely weekend!

Last weeks Diwali Lanterns – P1A

As part of our seasons and celebrations topic this term the Primary 1s have been learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali, also known as the festival of lights!

We learned that when they celebrate Diwali, people like to decorate their homes with lanterns. So we had a go at making our own.

Primary 1A – Last Forest School

On Tuesday (20th) primary 1A had their final forest school. Despite it being a bit more chilly this time around the P1s returned to school full of stories about the fun things they had been getting up to.

A big well done to all the P1s for their fantastic behaviour during forest school and always being well prepared and wrapped up warm.

Please remember next Tuesday is back to a normal school day so we wont need our snow suits! 🙂

P1 and P2 Nativity

As you will be aware we have started rehearsals for the P1 and P2 Nativity. A letter has gone home with the performance dates and you should return the slip requesting tickets as soon as possible. The P1s are angels and the P2s are shepherds and we would very much appreciate your help with the costumes. A letter has gone home detailing the items to bring in to school though please note for some of the P2 pupils (the main characters ) the school is providing  their costumes. The children know who need to bring in costumes.

A letter for those wishing to have Christmas Lunch has also been sent home and the slip should be completed and returned to the school.

Primary 1 BookBugs

On Monday the Primary 1’s had a lovely visit from one of the librarians from Inverness Library.  We talked about what we liked about reading and which book was our favourite.

All the primary 1’s will receive there Bookbugs reading bag full of lots of goodies home with them on Friday.

Primary 1A Learning Pathways

We are all exhausted today after our fabulous trip to the cinema this morning. The children and staff all had a super time watching the Giant Pear. We also did lots of fun activities at lunch time to celebrate Children in Need, which included having the opportunity to get our faces painted!

The second learning pathway which is on writing went home in your child’s reading bag this afternoon.

Like the first learning pathway we would very much appreciate it if you could take the time to have a conversation with your child about their learning and complete the home comment section of the learning pathway and return it to school for next week.

Have a lovely weekend!

See you all on Monday!

Friday Cinema Trip and Children in Need.

A wee reminder that tomorrow morning P1A, P1B, P1/2, P2/3 and p3 will be visiting Vue cinema to see The Giant Pear.

We are really looking forward to a fun day at the cinema.

Just a reminder that it is also Children in Need tomorrow so the children are allowed to dress down for the day. Please remember to bring in your £1 donation for dressing down as well as extra pennies if you would like to donate to take part in any of the wonderful games that will be on offer.

See you all tomorrow!

Friday 16th of November Cinema Trips and Dress Down Day

Good Morning!

We have had a lot of parents asking across p1A, P1B, P1/2, P2/3 and P3 regarding what the children should be wearing on the cinema trip this Friday.

As it is Children in  Need this Friday the school is having a dress down day to support the charity – where you will bring £1 to school as a donation.

We are happy for the children who are attending the cinema in the morning to also show their support for Children in Need by dressing down. The children will be wearing their high vis vests over their clothes for the trip so there is no need for them to also have a Lochardil jumper.

Please come dressed down on Friday with your £1 donation! We are very much looking forward to our cinema trip. 🙂

Primary 1A Forest School.

In order to make sure that the Primary 1’s are ready to leave for forest school as soon as possible on Tuesday, we would ask that your child is at school and lined up for the first bell at 10 to 9. The children will come into the classroom slightly earlier than usual so we can make sure that we are ready to go for forest school.

Many Thanks!

Miss M 🙂

Litter Picking

The Primary 7’s have been most helpful today by helping train their primary 1 buddy how to pick up litter in the playground.

The Eco team visited our class to show us how much litter they had found just this morning, managing to fill almost 3 bags!

As a school we aim to look after our school and wider environment by keeping it clean and tidy. The primary 7’s accompanied the primary 1’s today on their first Lochardil Litter Pick in Primary 1.

We learned how to use the litter pickers properly and safely following the guidance and expertise of our primary 7 buddies!

A big thank you to P7 for all your help today!
